The People Behind Merit
Merit Bread’s growth from a single family enterprise into one of Punjab’s leading bakery groups didn’t happen on its own. It was built by a team that combined decades of hands-on baking expertise with modern business discipline — and continues to guide the company’s manufacturing, distribution, and product innovation today.
ABDUL MUALI TARIQ
Mr. Abdul Muali Tariq holds a Master’s degree from the Agriculture University of Faisalabad and is one of the first Pakistanis to qualify from the American Institute of Baking (AIB), USA. With over 35 years of experience in the baking and food industry, he remains one of the company’s most valuable assets. It was Mr. Tariq who started the business in 1983 with a modest investment and, through decades of dedication, built it into a group of companies comprising eight establishments.

HAMMAD TARIQ
After completing his MBA and gaining two years of experience at Ramna Foods (Pvt) Ltd, Mr. Hammad Tariq joined Safina Foods (Pvt) Ltd in 2007. His outstanding performance led to him taking full charge of the Faisalabad unit, alongside his role as Sales and Marketing Director. He was appointed Managing Director of Hisbiz (Pvt) Ltd in 2002, where his hard work and diligence helped the company earn recognition as the 2nd best bread company in the Faisalabad region. In 2020, he was made Chairman of Safina Foods (Pvt) Ltd.
OMAR TARIQ
Mr. Omar Tariq completed his education in Accounting and Finance in the United Kingdom before returning to Pakistan to join the Group as CEO of SFS (Pvt) Ltd. His extensive work experience in the UK's retail and HORECA sectors has strengthened the Group's operational capabilities and opened new avenues for growth. He also oversees the import and export of food ingredients at Connect Enterprize.
IMRAN TAHIR
Imran Tahir completed his MBA from the University of Cardiff, UK, in 2007 and has been part of the Group ever since. He has excelled in overseeing the production and administration of Safina Foods (Pvt) Ltd, consistently delivering results that reflect his commitment and expertise. In recognition of his performance, he was appointed Managing Director of Safina Foods (Pvt) Ltd in 2020.
